Go Figure Sunday

Here's some figure drawing from this past Sunday the 26th. 

I wasn't as loose as I would have liked to have been. Still good practice.

The class I was taking Sundays is over so I plan on returning to figure drawing on a regular basis!

Since half of the poses I got facing me were of the model's back I decided it was "practice back day, " which means to exaggerate it the more I see it!

The last 2 poses were 20 minutes, I believe. The 2 before that were 15'ers. Prior to that were 5 minutes and 2 minutes.

 I like to do at least one good face drawing to show I can draw faces!

I don't always like to get detailed with the face because I draw faces all the time and don't always get the chance to draw nude strangers. <--creepy when put that way...

This one is being my favorite from this session!

I started this caricature right after I found out he died. I think he was a great comedian and it is a shame that he passed so early. Do yourself a favor and watch/listen to his comedy.

Elephant In The Room 

MC BGTD! Bobble head

This is a bobble head design of my boss Michael Cole at Salon Development Corp. BGTD! Boom Goes The Dynamite! There would be a mini poster of an explosion to put it in back of the bobble head.

Here's the bobble head we did a few years back. It was based off of the caricature of Michael I did for the 'A Little More Off The Top' book that came out in 2004. I think the sculptors did a great job. I did turnarounds for them to go off of but I can't find those designs. I look forward to seeing if we are able to make the new Michael BGTD! bobble head. I think my art has improved and the the likeness is stronger.

Committee In My Head

Here's another version of the Committee In My Head illo but this time with my boss. I guess it is fairly common to have a bunch or your heads floating around telling you to do stuff.

I was practicing painting gorillas. THEN...I saw BIGFOOT!!

I am so serious! I friggin' saw him outside my window! Our eyes met and I...

I know I am married and everything but, when our eyes met...I know he felt it too.

I blinked and he was gone.

I painted him quickly. If you see him, let him know I miss him.

Here is a gift caricature I did for a corporate client.

They wanted a superhero theme and I was careful to not do anything like a trademarked character. If you look at my website you can see I like red and blue. I thought yellow would be a good color to throw in the costume too since it is a primary color also.
